Joanna's Movers Serves Pensacola. Pensacola is located in the Florida Panhandle. Over one hundred thousand people live in the thriving town of Pensacola, Florida. It has shopping, malls, access to a great beach (Pensacola Beach) and is filled with friendly people working at a sensible pace. In the deep south the pace is a bit slower, people rarely tell you to "move along" or to "get packing". Quite the reverse is true.
The Spanish held control of Pensacola for 160 years (1559-1719) and their influence is found to this day in the names of streets and places. Examples of Spanish names include: Ponce de Leon Court,Cayo grande Navarre Apartment Homes, Moreno Street, Alcaniz Street, Cervantes Street, Romana Street, Palafox, Barcia Drive, Seville Square and Tarragona Street. The French held control for three short years (1719-1722). The Confederate States of America held control from 1861 to 1865. The United States of America has held Pensacola since 1865.
The Pensacola MSA (Metropolitan Standard Area) holds over 450,000 people. The towns in the MSA include Pensacola, Milton, Gulf Breeze, Century, Ferry Pass and Blount. Parts of unincorporated Escambia County and Santa Rosa Counties round out the geographical reach of the MSA.
The beaches in the Pensacola MSA are Perdido Key, Oriole Beach, Navarre Beach and Pensacola Beach. Pensacola Beach is set up for the tourists that come by the millions. The Public Access Beach offers a boardwalk with ice cream, fishing and snacks. It is a pleasure to walk out on the board walk with magnificent views in all directions. An interesting factoid is that the Federal Government owns the underlying property that the houses are on. So, they have 99 year leases instead of fee ownership of the land.
